Emily and I are huge Survivor fans.  I have only really missed 2 seasons in its history.  I love the strategy and all that.  But I found something this evening that makes me wonder how many people on Survivor are actually "real" and how many of them are just actors looking for a break.

I have been watching the show, "The Tick".  I watched the original cartoon and decided to watch the live action series.  Its only 9 episodes long and is mildly entertaining.  But I was watching "the Big Leagues", one of the episodes, and there was an actor who played "The Champion" who looked really, really familiar.  He was a big part in the episode, lots of lines, something for an experienced actor.  I was going through all the shows that I know in my mind, but I just couldn't figure it out.

And so I looked it up and I found something out.  It is Jonathan Penner who is best known for his trips on Survivor.  It seems that he is really a struggling actor who was trying to jump start his acting career.  Makes me buy more into the thought that most of the really exciting people to watch on the show are probably just struggling actors trying to make a name for themselves.
